History of Establishing Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded in memory of Logan Jacob Satterly.
Logan was an Apollo High School senior and percussion
section leader in the Marching Eagle Band. Logan
died as a result of an automobile accident in December
of 2003.
Mr. Jackie Satterly
requested that expressions of sympathy be made to the Apollo
High School Band. The Apollo High School Band
staff, members, and boosters, inspired by Logan's
passion and dedication to the Apollo High School Band,
decided the monies
received would best be utilized by creating this
scholarship. The scholarship is
to be presented annually to
a graduating senior exhibiting the same focus and
dedication to success that Logan possessed.
At the spring concert on May 4, 2004, Mr. Mark Benningfield,
Band Director, described Logan as
a dedicated, hard working, disciplined band member who
had a better understanding of music rhythm, even more than himself.
The scholarship is awarded to further
the education of individuals exhibiting their
qualifications in the application for the scholarship.
The Apollo High School Band's desire is to
raise enough donations to have this scholarship
perpetuate forever. If you would like to donate,
