There aren't enough words to describe what it's like to step on a field and give a performance of a lifetime, leaving the feeling like you just climbed a mountain. The weeks and weeks of grueling practice in the hot summer sun, the constant sound of "one more time" always running through your mind, never letting up, giving all that you have. All this for a moment in time to perform for 9 minutes, in front of 30,000 screaming parents. For that 9 minutes, you are on top of the world, all that you had hoped for has come true. Only few know of the friendships that are made that last a life time, of the memories that stay with you. This is what it's all about, going out with 80 of your friends, giving everything, for a moment in the spotlight, a moment to call your very own. Jennifer Poe '03 |
